Forces kill militant, defuse bomb in North Waziristan

PESHAWAR: A militant was killed during an exchange of fire between the security forces and a group of insurgents in North Waziristan tribal region, military sources said Sunday.

The sources said that a bomb planted alongside road was also defused in the area.

Pakistan armed forces have long been battling a Taliban-led insurgency in the tribal region, which borders war stricken Afghanistan.
