India gang rape convict to appeal verdict: lawyer

NEW DELHI: At least one of the four men convicted Tuesday of gang raping and murdering a student on a New Delhi bus last December will appeal the guilty verdict, his lawyer said Tuesday.

V.K. Anand, defence lawyer for Mukesh Singh, told reporters outside the courtroom: "My client was simply driving the bus. He confessed fairly that he was driving the bus but he did not know what went on inside."
