ISLAMABAD: In charge, Dengue Fever Control Cell, District Health Department, Islamabad has informed that anti-dengue drive in the rural areas of Islamabad is going on successfully.

Over 20,000 pamphlets about preventive measures against dengue have been distributed.

Lady Health Workers visited 15,000 houses and 40 schools as part of raising awareness against dengue and delivered lectures.

As many as 30 active breeding sites were eliminated and anti-dengue spray was carried out at over 50 places including solid waste disposal areas.

Dr Durrani urged the citizens to take necessary preventive measures against dengue and keep their houses and surroundings clean and free from germs. Water storage containers should be kept tightly covered with lids.

He said that only one suspected dengue patient has been admitted in the Shifa International Hospital during last 24 hours.

At present, only five dengue patients are admitted in the city hospitals, out of which laboratory report of three suspected dengue patients is awaited. (APP)
