NEW YORK: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at approximately 2100 (PST) Friday.

The prime minister is expected to speak on the menace of terrorism plaguing Pakistan, and will also raise the issue of drone attacks.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to meet his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh. This meeting which will take place over breakfast is expected to focus on decreasing tension and improving bilateral relations.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with US Secretary John Kerry and the two leaders discussed Pak-US relations. Following the meeting, the White House announced that Prime Minister Sharif would meet with US President Barack Obama on October 23.

The prime minister has also met with NATO Secretary General Andres Fogh Rasmussen. During this meeting the situation in Afghanistan and the region was discussed.
