PESHAWAR: The spokesman for chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shiraz Paracha told Geo News on Wednesday that peace talks between the Ulema (religious scholars) and Taliban were underway and would be supported by the provincial government.

Spokesman Shiraz Paracha said talks between Ulema and Taliban were a positive step and would be supported at every stage. Paracha said that talks were a sensitive matter as he refrained from revealing the names of the Ulema who were involved in the process.

He did not give any timeframe for the talks nor did he mention a point by which peace would be restored.
