Lahore: One killed, several injured in Old Anarkali blast

LAHORE: A strong explosion outside a Biryani restaurant in the Old Anarkali area of the city killed one person and injured 14 others.

Police said the time device with one kilogram of explosives was planted at the counter of the restaurant and an investigation had been initiated. The injured were rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment and three including a woman are said to be in critical condition.

The explosion also caused damage to several other shops located in the area.

The son of the restaurant’s owner was killed in the blast. Speaking to Geo News, the owner of the restaurant said that they had never received any threats.
