KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) MPA Khawaja Izharul Hassan on Monday said that the security situation in Sindh is deteriorating and MQM is the only party that has consistently raised its voice against the Taliban.

While addressing the media, the MQM MPA said that emergency should be declared with immediate effect in the province and that the Sindh government should reach out for help from the armed forces to maintain law and order.

While mentioning that MQM would submit a resolution in assembly today condemning the Shikarpur tragedy, he went on to say that it was MQM Chief Altaf Hussain who warned everyone about the presence of the Taliban in the province.

Khawaja Izharul Hassan further said that a province wide operation against terrorists and their facilitators is needed without delay.
