LAHORE: Lahore Transport Company (LTC) chairman Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan gave a cheque of Rs500,000 to Syed Ali Haider as financial assistance for achieving first position among deaf children in the matriculation examination.

Talking to the media, he said special children were significant part of our society and the government was taking revolutionary steps for providing them equal rights.

He said the Punjab government was providing a monthly stipend of Rs800 to students along with provision of free education, uniform, shoes, transport and books.

Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan said friendly environment would be provided to special children for removing their sense of deprivation. He said the government was also taking measures for higher education and jobs for the special children.

The mother of Syed Ali Haider thanked the Punjab chief minister for providing financial assistance. (APP)
