KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-II (ATC-II) on Saturday remanded activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Syed Kazim Abbas Rizvi to jail custody till November 18, 2013 in Naimat Ali Randhawa murder case.
Rangers and police produced Rizvi in an armored personnel carrier (APC) before ATC-II judge. Later, he was produced before ATC-V in illegal weapons possession case.
The accused was brought to the two courts under tight security of rangers and police. Police apprehended Rizvi for his alleged involvement in murder of senior lawyer Naimat Ali Randhawa who was shot dead in Nazimabad in Karachi.
According to police, suspect was also involved in murder of two citizens, Ali Dost and Mohammad Abbas.
Earlier on October 02, ATC-II handed over the accused person to rangers and police on physical remand of 14 days till Oct 18.
On Oct 26, Rizvi lawyer told the court that his client even doesn't know in which case he has been arrested by the law enforcement agencies. In his statement before the court, Accused Kazim Rizvi had said that he is an employee at Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB).
Rizwi lawyer complained about the negative behavior of police officials, alleging his client was tortured. On the request of lawyer, the court allowed that the mother of the accused could see him.
Randhawa, a legal adviser of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), came under gunfire assault on September 26, when he was going to home along with his son in Nazimabad area. The injured father and
son were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Randhawa succumbed to injuries. (PPI)
