Telephone exchange building blown up in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A telephone exchange building in the Meli Khel area of Peshawar was blown up here on Monday.

However, the building was empty thus there was no loss of life.
The building was damaged in the explosion following which police rushed to the spot and started a search operation in the area.

Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lies on the edge of Pakistan's tribal areas, which have been labeled by Washington as the main sanctuary for Al Qaeda and Taliban militants in the country. (PPI)
