KARACHI: The foreign bulls Friday gave a needed thrust to the country’s apex bourse topping it with more than 146 points amid ongoing consolidation.

The benchmark 100-Index of Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) was up 0.63 percent to close at 23,367.15 points by the time the closing bell chimed.

Out of 147 green points the heavyweights Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) and MCB Bank contributed a good 25 to the index.

Pakistan State Oil and Engro Corp (PSO) also came under spotlight despite marginal participation of traders ahead of Moharram-ul-Haram holidays.

Engro Corporation Ltd strengthened by 3.54 percent to Rs137.95 while Pakistan State Oil Co Ltd by 1.29 percent to close at Rs296.01.
