ISLAMABAD: Legendary Test leg spinner Abdul Qadir said that exclusion of Mohammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi in the third and final One Day International against South Africa was not a good decision.
Talking to a private TV channel, Abdul Qadir said that it was a crucial game and Pakistan could have turned the history if it would not have taken lightly.
Abdul Qadir said that South African batsmen seemed struggling against Afridi and Hafeez and make them sit outside for such an important history- making match was a big mistake.
He added that it was a stunning decision for him as Pakistan was on the verge of making a clean sweep against top Proteas side after having won the first two ODIs in a thrilling contest.
Such occasion comes to team’s way in decades and poor planning and worthless thinking deprived Pakistan team to perform such a golden feat he continued.
Replying to a question, he said that like any other cricket fan and Pakistani he was also concerned about the alarming performance of batting side and it can only be handled by great domestic structure.
He said that Pakistan Cricket Board must pay special attention to the domestic side in order to create batting talent for national team. (APP)
