DUBAI: Sri Lanka have set a daunting 211 for Pakistan to win the series and claim the No.1 spot in the world T-20 ranking in the 2nd T-20 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Putting Sri Lanka in to bat after winning the toss backfired as they made a brilliant start to their innings through some calculated and at times brutal hitting by the opening pair of Dilshan and Perera.
Pakistan managed to get the first break through in the 12th over but not before the openers and mustered a 100 run partnership. Dilshan was the first to go scoring 42 off 33 balls with 8 fours.
Prasana was the second wicket to fall as he tried to further accelerate holding out to Usman off Saeed Ajmal. He scored 21 off 11 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Then came Sangakara and hammered the Pakistan bowlers to all parts of the ground getting 44 off 21 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
The most successful batsmen was however opener Perera smashing 84 of 59 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Bilawal Bhatti and Usman Khan Shanwari had a game they would like to forget as the former was hammered for 32 off his 2 overs and the latter went for 52 off his 4 overs.
Saeed Ajmal was pick of the Pakistan bowlers picking up 2-25.
