KARACHI: Two death row prisoners convicted of a murder were hanged in the Karachi Central Jail early morning (Tuesday).
Strict security arrangements were made ahead of the executions. The road leading to the detention facility was also blocked as part of the security arrangements.
Both Azam and Attaullah, belonging to a banned terrorist organization, were handed down capital punishment in 2004 for killing Dr Ali Raza in Soldier Bazaar area of the metropolis in 2001.
Pakistan continues to send death row prisoners to gallows after the Peshawar school carnage which prompted the government to lift moratorium on the capital punishment.
