Crippling traffic jams in Quaidabad irk commuters

KARACHI: Crippling traffic jams has became order of the day at Quaidabad roundabout tormenting commuters and pedestrians.

These traffic jams occur due to encroachments by vendors along roadsides.

The encroachments have not only been made by shopkeepers but also make shift stall holders, push cart owners and peddlers are also doing their business on roads illegally as a result major part of road is occupied by encroachers while a low part of it is left for traffic.

The irony is that office of Deputy Commissioner DC District Malir and Landhi Police Station are also located at Quiadabad roundabout but no official feels his responsibility to even take notice of the situation and provide some relief to the people who every day face this tormenting situation.

It is pertinent to mention here that two hospitals and a maternity home are also located at the roundabout where a large number of patients have to visit and face torments of traffic jams. (PPI)
