KARACHI: Three persons including two cops were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire in different areas of Karachi while a body of a woman was also recovered from Baldia Town on Thursday morning, Geo News reported.
In the recent incident that targeted the security personnel, unidentified assailants attacked the police mobile near Shafiq roundabout early morning that killed two policemen in New Karachi while two others including a passerby sustained injuries.
The culprits were riding motorcycles and fled after the ambush, sources added.
The victim policemen were identified as Head Constable Javed and Constable Asif. The bodies and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
On the other hand, armed assailants opened fire on a car near Karsaz that killed a man who could not be identified until the last report was filed.
A body of a woman was also recovered from a house in Rasheedabad area of Baldia Town.
It is pertinent to mention here that two policemen were killed when unknown armed men opened fire on a check-post in Sohrab Goth area on Wednesday night.
Sources told that the armed men forced their way into the police post located near Al-Asif Square and fled after killing the two policemen.
In another incident, Rangers arrested two attackers after they opened fire on paramilitary force vehicle near Burns Road in Karachi.
Rangers’ sources said armed motorcyclists opened fire on Rangers vehicle while two attackers were injured in retaliatory fire.
The paramilitary force also arrested the injured assailants and recovered arms from their possession.
Sources said the accused were the residents of Musa Lane, Lyari.
