ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting to review the law and order situation was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Thursday.

During the meeting Prime Minister Sharif ordered for the immediate completion of new legislation to combat the menace of terrorism in the country.

An agreement was also reached to establish a mechanism to increase intelligence sharing between the center and provinces. Army Chief General Raheel Sharif briefed the meeting on the security situation while DG ISI and DGMO provided a briefing on the security situation along the country’s borders.

The interior minister was also directed to visit Quetta and address the concerns of the Hazara community who are staging a sit-in and have refused to bury the victims of the Mastung tragedy.

The meeting was also attended by the Defence Minister, Information Minister and Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security.

Earlier during a one-on-one meeting Prime Minister Sharif and the Army Chief discussed the situation in the country.
