ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the committees’ formed by the government and Taliban for peace dialogue is underway.
Prior to the meeting, members of the government committee- -Irfan Siddiqui, Major (retd) Aamir, Rahimullah Yousafzai and Rustam Shah Mohmand met.
The coordinator of the committee, Irfan Siddiqui said in the first meeting bilateral issues and basic agenda would come under discussion.
The committee nominated by the Taliban comprises Maulana Samiul Haq, Professor Ibrahim and Maulana Abdul Aziz. Maulana Yousaf Shah is also attending the meeting on behalf of the Taliban
Earlier, Maulana Abdul Aziz said the Taliban wanted to have a meeting with their nominated committee. He said they were deliberating to visit Waziristan or call Taliban near Peshawar for meeting.
He further said they could ask Taliban to provide their demands in written, however, the final decision in this regard would be made after meeting with government committee.
