SUKKUR: Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh, Shahid Nadeem Baloch says there has been a 50-60 per cent decrease in target killing in Karachi.

Mr. Baloch during a news conference dismissed accusations of the police being involved in extortion worth Rs220 million on a daily basis in Karachi. The IGP said the police force was working diligently to recover those individuals who had been abducted in interior Sindh.

The police chief of the province added that the induction of 3,000 personnel into the force was underway and there was an urgent need to equip policemen with the latest weapons.

The IGP praised the performance of Karachi police chief Shahid Hayat.
