Plan made for control of dengue in upcoming summer season

ISLAMABAD: District Health Department and Health Directorate Capital Development Authority (CDA) have jointly made an effective plan of action for prevention and control of dengue in the summer season.

In-charge Dengue Control and Surveillance Cell Islamabad Dr Muhammad Najeeb Durrani said here that the disease surveillance and response system have further been improved and specifically targeting those areas where the disease had struck last year, thereby strengthening early warning lab diagnosis timely epidemiological response and capacity building.

Dr Najeeb Durrani said that vector control measures have been made more effective through elimination of breeding sites.

He told that more focus would be on the efforts to control the disease through awareness drive and social mobilization for changing habits of the community.
