PESHAWAR: Six persons including five policemen were killed in firing on a police mobile in Peshawar late Monday night.

Police said unknown assailants attacked the police van in Badaber area, and as a result inspector and four other police personnel were killed while eleven others got injured.

While the ambulance was on way to transfer the injured to the hospital, the attackers opened fire on it which killed the ambulance driver and two others sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital while the bodies were transferred to Khyber Hospital.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has condemned the attack and ordered the provincial government to initiate probe into the incident promptly.

Minister for Industries Shaukat Ali Yousafzai also reached the Lady Reading Hospital and inquired about the health of the injured persons.

While talking to the media men, the minister said the occurrence of such incidents is remorseful while the government-Taliban talks are in progress. He said that it’s premature to accuse anyone until someone claims the responsibility of the attack.
