Hamid Mir refuses to record statement for JIT in ISI presence

KARACHI: The eight-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe the April 19 attack on senior Geo News anchor Hamid Mir visited him at a private hospital to record his statement.

Hamid Mir refused to record his statement in the presence of the ISI representative. The JIT comprises representatives of IB, MI, ISI, CID, FIA and police.

Mr. Mir expressed gratitude to all people and said he had reservations over the inclusion of ISI representative and not on the MI in the JIT team.

After Hamid Mir expressed his reservations on the presence of ISI representative, the JIT asked for a 5-minute break at 2:35 PM. However, the team did not return till filing of this report.
