KARACHI: Funeral prayers were held for two murdered Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers on Friday.
After the funeral prayers, traders and transporters announced to resume regular activities in Karachi.
The MQM on Thursday announced that it would be staging a peaceful protest across Sindh after the bodies of four MQM workers were recovered from Memon Goth Link Road. The workers were identified as Muhammad Sameed, Ali Haider, Faizan and Salman Qureshi.
Following the MQM’s appeal for a protest against the extra judicial killing of party workers, shops and petrol pumps remained closed in the Karachi while transport on roads remained thin. Educational institutions in the city also remained closed.
A resolution against the extra judicial murder of MQM workers was also passed in the Sindh Assembly.
