ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of the case pertaining to objectionable banners, being placed against the judiciary in the nation’s capital till May 28.
In its order, the two member apex court bench comprising Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Gulzar Ahmed stated that today posters were placed, tomorrow those who placed them can enter the red zone and cause damage.
During proceedings, Interior Secretary Shahid Khan appeared before the apex court. Justice Jawwad S Khawaja remarked that banners against the judiciary were placed in the nation’s capital but the interior secretary was unaware. Justice Khawaja asked the interior secretary if his being unaware was his answer then this was the incompetence of institutions and it would be extremely dangerous.
Justice Khawaja further said that the DG IB was conducting an investigation and an explanation would be required from the interior secretary.
Justice Khawaja added that fortunately angels only placed banners and not a bomb. He remarked if the banners had not been placed in the red zone by an unseen being or angels it must have been human beings who placed them.
The apex court summoned the report from the DG IB and interior secretary over the objectionable banners when the hearing of the case resumes on May 28.
