Defence Ministry not satisfied with PEMRA penalty on GEO: Asif

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Saturday that his ministry was not satisfied with the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) penalty on Geo News.

PEMRA suspended the licence of Geo News for 15 days and fined the channel Rs10 million.

Defence Minister Asif added that an appeal would be filed seeking an increase in the penalty on Geo News.

Asif further said the ISI and Defence Ministry will defend themselves in court against Geo’s accusations.
