After the success of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan starrer family drama ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is set to hit the cinema theaters across Pakistan on the same day as in India after Diwali festival on November 12.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan had turned out to be a major success story in Pakistan for its heart-warming tale of an Indian man helping a young Pakistai girl to reach her parents across the border.

The movie release in the two countries simultaneously is a good omen at a time when art and cinema have been dragged into the politics between both nations.

Salman now has all the reasons to be happy as he had earlier told the Indian media that he wanted the movie to cross borders.

The actor said cinema was a powerful medium with the capability to usher in a change. “The medium (cinema) is really powerful. We can do a lot with this medium,” he said.

“This is our tool and a lot of people appreciate good cinema and good characters.

“Everyone watches movies and it has a huge impact on people’s life, and on society. I think there is no format better than cinema.”

‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, which reunites Salman with director Sooraj Barjatya after 16 years, is a story about love and family ties with a royal setting as the backdrop.

The family drama also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
