KARACHI: One person lost his life and two others injured in a blast outside a mosque located in the Saddar area of the city. The attacker was also killed in the blast which took place after jumma (Friday) prayers.
According to police the blast took place in front of the New Preedy Street Parking Plaza when the suicide attacker carrying explosives on a motorcycle collided with another motorcycle.
Karachi police chief, Ghullam Qadir Thebo said the attacker was travelling to his intended target when he collided with another motorcycle outside the Mohajir Makki Masjid.
Police officials said the attacker was killed while the other motorcycle rider lost his life in the blast.
The injured were shifted to nearby Jinnah Hospital for treatment while the area was cordoned off by security personnel.
The windows of nearby buildings were also destroyed in the blast.
