HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks climbed 0.30 percent Thursday morning, an eighth-straight gain, as dealers welcomed data showing the US economy grew much more than expected in the second quarter of the year.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 73.54 points to 24,805.75 at the open.
