COAS, PM discuss current situation

ISLAMABAD: Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif on Tuesday met with Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to discuss the current political and security situation, Geo News reported.

According to the sources, the civil and military leaders discussed the current political turmoil and security situation due to the on-going Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests and probably march towards Red Zone in the federal capital.

The meeting was also attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and a decision to ensure the safety of the red zone was taken.

Discussions were also held over operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.
