KARACHI: Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghullam Haider Jamali in an exclusive conversation with Geo News said the law and order situation in Karachi was satisfactory.
The IGP said there was no major terrorist activity in Karachi, while several criminals had been killed and arrested. “Several criminals have been killed and the overall law and order situation in Karachi is satisfactory.”
Ghullam Haider Jamali added that one year of the targeted operation had been completed in Karachi. During this time there had been a decrease in target killing and crime in the city. According to the IGP, the situation in the city was being exaggerated and the reality was something quite different.
“The average killing in Karachi has decreased from 7 to 4.5,” Mr Jamali said.
The IGP added that the police was working on a certified list of criminal suspects. When asked about security for Eid-ul-Azha, the IGP replied that special arrangements were being made.
