Nisar orders probe of raid on MQM office

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered a probed into the raid at an MQM office in Karachi.

The interior minister spoke with Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad and held a meeting with the new DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar on Thursday.

In his meeting with the DG Rangers which followed his telephone conversation with the Sindh Governor, Nisar said Rangers should ensure there are no complaints from residents, political workers and parties from their actions. The interior minister added the Rangers were playing a key role in establishing peace in Karachi.

The interior minister spoke again with the Governor Ebad after this meeting and informed him that DG Rangers had been directed not to arrest any innocent people and investigate last night’s incident.
