Dallas: American Muslim Democratic Caucus co- chair And Dallas Fort Worth’s prominent political activist Syed Fayyaz Hassan’s mother Shahida Abdul Hai died at 79.
She has left five sons and two daughters in the grieving family. Upon hearing the news several Pakistani and Muslim community leaders and activists offered condolences to Syed Fayyaz Hassan.
A number of activists including Pakistan America Association of Texas President Dr. Amer Suleman, Dr. Javed Ajmal, Naeem Chaudhry, Ghulam Waraich, Dallas County Schools President Larry Duncan, Pakistan Tahreek e Insaaf leaders, Salman Abidi, Nazia Khan, Sindhi Association of North Texas President Moazzam Bhangar, religious scholar Allama Babar Rahmani, Mohsin Mandavia, Saghir Ahmad Jaffery, Syed Ashraf Wasti, Rehan Qaiser, Mona Kazim Shah, Mike Ghouse, Muratza Nainitalwala, Farooq Khan, Shah Alam, South Asia Democracy Watch activists Tausif Kamal, Asif Effendi, Aftab Siddiqui, and Dr. Qaiser Abbas, Muslim Democratic Caucus director and media advisor Raja Zahid Khanzada, Kashmiri leader Raja Muzaffar Kashmiri and a large number of prominent activists from Dallas Fort Worth offered their condolences.
A prayer service and Quran Khwani for eesal e sawaab for deceased mother of Mr. Hassan was also held at Masjid Zia ul Quran in Arlington Texas.
A large number of community leaders attended the service and offered condolences to Syed Fayyaz Hassan.
Masjid’s Imam Allama Ghulam Subhani offered prayer and fateha for late Mrs. Shahida Abdul Hai. Syed Fayyaz Hassan thanked all who came to the service, offered condolences through their presence, telephone and through other medium.
