ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers set up a picket in front of the Parliament and have been conducting snap-checks on vehicles before allowing them to pass through or turning away drivers with instructions on what route they may take.

While citizens are allowed to pass after verification, policemen are subject to stricter protocols.

On Wednesday when PAT workers hailed a policeman on his way to court, they found his official service pistol during the search and confiscated the weapon. Not only was his weapon seized the officer was ordered to use an alternate route to court with instructions to collect his weapon on his way back.

The officer was left pleading but PAT workers did not pay head.

A Supreme Court of Pakistan order demands that the Constitution Avenue be open for thoroughfare for all and sundry, but PAT workers continue to disregard the apex courts order as well.
