KARACHI: The deep depression formed over the central western parts of Arabian Sea has converted into a tropical cyclone and named Nilofar which may further intensify into a severe tropical cyclone during the next 36-48 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, Tropical Cyclone Nilofar is 1,222 KM away from Karachi and 1,145 KM away from Gwadar.
Tropical Storm Nilofar is present 906 KM away in south east of Arabia Sea near Salah city of Oman and heavy rainfall is expected in the coastal areas of Oman in the next 24-36 hours.
Rain in expected in the lower areas of Sindh including Karachi and coastal areas of Balochistan during Wednesday to Friday.
The Metrological Department has warned fishermen in these areas not to travel into the open sea during these days.
