Naegleria Fowleri kills one more in Karachi

KARACHI: The brain eating amoeba, Negleria Fowleri devoured one more Karachiite on Monday, pushing the tally of similar deaths to 13 this year.

According to Dr. Salma Kausar, Senior Director Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre, 27 year old Sahkil, a resident of Orangi Town was the target of the brain eater this time.

She said Shakil was admitted in the JPMC two days ago after being attacked by Negleria Fowleri.

Negleria Fowleri lives in fresh waters and attacks human brain by traveling through nasal cavity.
