ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) resumed hearing the Benazir Bhutto (BB) murder case Monday and ordered to paste a notice seeking reply outside the residence of Pervez Musharraf, Geo News reported.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case. Other members included Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez.

The bench heard the plea submitted by BB’s former protocol officer Aslam Chaudhry, seeking orders for registration of a second FIR against former president Pervez Musharraf and 12 others in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case.

Punjab prosecutor general submitted the reply on behalf of CPO Rawalpindi and DPO Police. The reply stated that second FIR of the case cannot be registered in the presence of first FIR while its challan has also been presented in the court.

The court was told that the respondents including Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and former law minister Babar Awan have not submitted their replies despite court’s orders.

Therefore, the court ordered to paste a notice seeking a reply outside the residence of Pevez Musharraf and to send notice to Babar Awan through the attorney general.

The court also ordered to send notices to Saud Aziz, Khurram Shehzad and Yasin Farooq through IG Punjab.

The court also accepted Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) request to become party in the case and adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
