KARACHI: Four people including a woman sustained injuries when unknown armed assailants opened fire on a joint rally taken out by Awami National Party (ANP) and Muhajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) here at National Highway on Monday.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for provision of necessary medical aid.
The firing incident spread a wave of fear across the area while severe traffic jams were reported on different sections of Sharea Faisal as commuters faced hardship in long queues of bumper-to-bumper traffic.
The workers and office bearers of ANP and Muhajir Qaumi Movment (Haqiqi) came out in large numbers and were heading to Karachi airport to welcome the ANP Sindh President Shahi Said on his return from Islamabad after being elected as a Senator.
