ISLAMABAD: The Senate session was held under the chairmanship of Farooq H. Naek on Friday.
During the session, the leader of the house Nayyer Bukhari presented the Human Rights Commission bill which had already been approved by the National Assembly.
The bill which seeks the formation of a Human Rights Commission was approved unanimously in the Senate.
Professor Khursheed Shah said that all efforts were made to ensure that the commission would be free.
Shah added for the first time the Army and Agencies will be responsible for human rights violations.
The members of the Human Rights Commission will be chosen by a four member parliamentary committee.
