ISLAMABAD: A moderate earthquake of 5.4 intensity was felt in most parts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday morning, sending frightened people running out of homes, Geo News reported.
The tremors, measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale were felt in Peshawar, Malakand, Swat, Abbottabad, Gilgit and other areas of KP at around 11.30 am as anxious people rushed out of their houses fearing a major earthquake to follow.
The Metrological department said the shocks lasted for three seconds while northwest Kashmir area near Gilgit was epicenter of the quake.
There were no reports of damages.
