ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Sunday left for the South Korean capital Seoul to represent Pakistan at the second nuclear security summit beginning on Monday.
Prior to departure while talking to media at Chaklala Airbase‚ Prime Minister Gilani said consensus would be developed among all stakeholders regarding Nato supply.
The prime minister said the decision to resume Nato supplies and the future course of ties with the US would be decided by Parliament.
He said the government also took the decisions to boycott the Bonn Conference and to vacate the Shamsi airbase.
Yousuf Raza Gilani said that during his talks with US President Barak Obama he would discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
Commenting on the Summit, the prime minister said that talks in Seoul would focus mainly on how to further protect nuclear weapons.
Gilani further said Pakistan wanted access to civil nuclear technology which was required for development. He said a well-placed Command and Control system of Pakistan’s nuclear assets was present and no one should have any doubt about regarding this.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Pakistan's ambassador to the US Sherry Rehman are also accompanying Prime Minister Gilani. (PPI)
