KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Thursday that arms and ammunition get transported to Karachi in large quantities from Afghanistan through routes originating from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that huge stocks had so far come to the metropolis.

"Ferrari camps were also resurfacing in Afghanistan and soon Pakistan will discuss these matters with Afghan government," he said while talking to media men in Islamabad.

He said it was the job of provincial government to establish peace in Karachi and in this regard the Federal Government was providing all possible resources to it. Compared to the previous day, the law and order situation has shown some improvement in Karachi, he added.

On the issue of loadshedding, Rehman Malik held the past policies of Pakistan Muslim League-N responsible for the aggravation in power crisis being witnessed today.

"The Punjab government should drop the idea of a long march and instead hold a short march for engaging in dialogue on country's issues," he asserted.

He said the incumbent government brings every matter of importance before the Parliament and believes in sorting it out through evolving a consensus.

"The next government will also be ours," the Interior Minister believed.

He said tainted and corrupt SHOs will not be tolerated and directed to send list of such SHOs to the concerned authorities for taking strict action against them including their replacement.
