Punjab Assembly adopts resolution to overcome energy crisis

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution to overcome prevailing energy crisis, Geo News reported.

According to sources, the resolution was passed after both the Punjab government and the Opposition reached consensus on nine points of the resolution.

They added that the resolution called for an equal distribution of electricity among the provinces as well as development of new hydel power projects to cut down reliance on oil-fired power generation.

It also demanded to expedite the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project.

In addition to that an end to the monthly revision of fuel adjustment surcharge procedure has also been necessitated in the resolution.
