ISLAMABAD: The judicial commission probing the memo scandal resumed the hearing today at Islamabad High Court (IHC). The commission had given Husain Haqqani another chance to appear today, Geo News reported.
The commission had ordered the former ambassador to appear before the commission with his Blackberry sets and other documents.
The commission reprimanded the Director General of Foreign Ministry to US Sohail Khan over no-reply regarding the missing Blackberry sets of Husain Haqqani and summoned the Foreign Secretary.
The panel also sought in-camera briefing about the secret funds of Pakistan Embassy in Washington.
Speaking to the media earlier, the counsel of the former ambassador Zahid Bukhari said he will ask his client if he would be returning to Pakistan.
Husain Haqqani had officially asked the Blackberry company to issue the records of his conversations with the US business tycoon Mansoor Ijaz but it has thrown up many questions.
Pakistan’s former envoy to the US Haqqani signed the No Objection Certificate (NOC) which states that he will not have any objections to issuing the details regarding his Blackberry conversations with Mansoor Ijaz.
