KASHMORE: Five persons were killed and nine others injured when a clash took place between security guards and employees of a private power house here on Friday, Geo News reported.

According to police, the watchman of Guddu thermal power plant had died of a heart attack before but his heirs alleged that he had been murdered.

Today, the heirs of the late watchman and members of Mazari tribe, who are employed in the power house, were present at the main gate to protest when the company’s security guards opened fire on them.

The protesters and gurads used arms and as a result of bilateral firing, five persons were killed and nine others sustained injuries.

After the incident, SSP Umer Salamat along with heavy contingents of police and Rangers arrived at the scene to control the situation.

Members of the Mazari tribe staged a sit-in at Press Club and closed Sindh-Punjab link road for traffic.
