Police salary van attacked; 1 killed

FAISALABAD: A policeman was killed and five passersby hurt when a police van carrying large amount of money for the salaries of jail personnel was attacked here today, Geo News reported.

According to CPO Bilal Siddique, Assistant Superintend Asif Khan along with other employees was traveling in a van when the robbers attacked them at Jarianwala Road and looted away Rs 2.3 million.

A policeman was killed on resistance while five others hurt when the dacoits opened indiscriminate firing. The robbers managed to flee the scene with the looted money.
