Senate Body discusses ANF projects, performance

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control met here on Wednesday and discussed different projects of the Ministry, their performance and achievements.

Senator, Talha Mahmood chaired the meeting which was briefed on role, functions, organizational structure, mission, deployment, employment and working strategy of Ministry of Narcotics Control and its attached departments.

In his briefing, Secretary Narcotics Control enumerated the achievements and said various steps were being taken to combat this menace.

Senator Talha Mahmood said the Committee extends all support to the Ministry to improve its performance. Allocation of annual budget of Ministry of Narcotics Control was also discussed.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Narcotics Control, Haji Khuda Bux Rajar, Members of the Committee including Col (R) Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi, Gul Muhammad Lot, Mir Israrullah Khan Zehri, Mukhtiar Ahmed Dhamrah (Aajiz), Najma Hameed, Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani, Shahi Syed and DG ANF, Zafar Iqbal.
