Karachi: Woman drowns at Sea View beach

KARACHI: A middle-aged woman identified as Samina Kamal drowned in rough waters at Sea View beach on Friday, Geo News reported.

Samina Kamal, daughter of Kamaluddin, was a doctor by profession which was disclosed through the Fellowship of College of Physicians n Surgeons (FCPS) card found from her handbag. She cleared the FCPS exams in 1999.

Samina drowned suspiciously in rough seawater at Sea View. Witnesses said that she was breathing at the time when she was pulled out of water, however she could not be saved due to lack of proper rescue arrangements.

Chhipa sources told that Samina was picnicking when drowned. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico legal formalities.

It is pertinent to mention that the City District Government has banned the visitors to bath in the sea, however, no one was present at the beach to stop them from going into deep waters.

Police said that people are responsible for such events who go into the sea despite ban and run away as soon as they see police.
