QUETTA: Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued notices to the Federation of Pakistan, Attorney General and Secretary law for July 23 on the constitutional petitions filed against the contempt of court law, Geo News reported.

The apex court issued these orders while hearing the petitions against contempt of court law. Senior lawyers Athar Manulah and Baz Muhammad Kakar have filed the plea jointly.

During the proceeding of the case, lawyers presented arguments in the favor of the petitions. They pleaded that this law is against the Article 2A of the constitution in which independence of judiciary is guaranteed.

This law is also against the Article 08, 14 and 25, which give equal rights to the citizens.

Later, the court issued notices to Federation of Pakistan, Attorney General and Secretary law and adjourned the hearing till July 23.
