RAWALPINDI: At least eight persons were killed and several others injured when a passenger bus plunged into a ravine in Kahuta Tuesday, Geo News reported.

According to initial reports, a bus carrying 50 passengers fell into a deep ravine due to over speeding that killed eight persons on the spot while the casualties are feared to rise as some injured are said to be in critical condition.

Locals along with the police kicked off rescue efforts to shift the bodies and injured to the hospital.

The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital.
