PESHAWAR: Three containers carrying supplies for the NATO troops in Afghanistan were stopped in Khyber Agency over security concerns, Geo News reported Wednesday.
According to security forces, the three containers that were on way to Afghanistan to provide supplies to the NATO forces were stopped in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency due to security reasons.
The containers were then sent back to Peshawar, sources told.
It is pertinent to mention that a driver was killed and his helper sustained injuries when unknown persons attacked the NATO containers near Surkamar area in Jamrud tehsil on Tuesday.
The official sources said that the militants attacked the convoy around 11am and killed one person and injured another. The slain driver was identified as Attaullah, resident of Badaber. The injured Zafar Shinwari, resident of Landikotal, was rushed to a hospital in Peshawar. It was the first attack on the NATO trucks after the restoration of supplies to Afghanistan.
